Willowbrook High School Student Alejandro Garcia, 16, Dies Following Fatal Bellwood Incident
Alejandro Garcia, a 16-year-old Villa Park resident, died following an incident in Bellwood, Illinois, on Tuesday afternoon.
Bellwood officers responded near 22nd Avenue and Adams Street at approximately 3:20 p.m. and found Garcia critically injured.
Emergency personnel transported Garcia to a hospital, where the teenager later died.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Garcia’s identity.
Authorities received reports that Garcia had been thrown from a vehicle, but investigators have not clarified the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Garcia attended Willowbrook High School and participated in soccer and wrestling.
Family members remembered Garcia as a young person who enjoyed music and spending time with friends, and they described the loss as a sudden shock.
Garcia leaves behind a mother and siblings.
Police took three people into custody but released no further details about the investigation as of October 22, 2026.
