Rob Oesterle, a 57-year-old Morris resident and longtime prep sports reporter for Shaw Media-owned newspapers, died in a semi-truck collision in Kendall County, Illinois, on Tuesday afternoon, October 20, 2026.
The crash occurred shortly after 1:15 p.m. on Route 52, east of Church Road.
Authorities pronounced Oesterle dead at the scene.
